As a history museum of the ozarks, this is an excellent place to visit! As a Natural History Museum, there were many things lacking. There were some excellent examples of ancient creatures that lived in the area, and Indian artifacts, but much of the museum is focused on the Wild West and the Civil War. Not things I would necessarily associate with a Natural History Museum.
Great place if you love Metates, they have a million.
This was an excellent little shop! The owner was very friendly and informative, answered all the questions we had. There were so many rocks from around the world, truly an impressive selection for a small shop we stopped into on a whim.
I bought a grab bag and it has an awesome selection of rocks, well worth the $5! We took home some bismuth as well and a smaller piece of celestite. I also love that they had a large display of local rocks!
