Visit Oceanview Mine in Pala, California and hunt for your own gemstones. At this mine, you can find a variety of gems including tourmalines, kunzites, morganites, and more!

Open three days a week, the Oceanview Mine requires a reservation to dig. Like many working mines, you get the opportunity to sift through rocks that are brought up out of the mine. Included in the standard dig fee, you keep everything you find and you can take home a 5-gallon bucket of rocks that you have screened and washed.

While visiting the Oceanview Mine, you can also stay on site in at The Miner’s Inn. Guests at the Miner’s Inn also get a special guided tour underground in the mines!

The reviews of this mine are very positive overall, showing excellent gems recovered by visitors to the Oceanview Mine. Guests have found excellent samples of aquamarine, tourmaline, and rock crystal quartz. The jeep tour of the site is also well regarded by visitors to the mine!
