Welcome to the on-line home of the Mobile Rock & Gem Society!

MRGS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Mobile, Alabama dedicated to stimulating interest in earth sciences and supporting the education of geology, mineralogy, lapidary arts, and related subjects.

Membership is open to anyone age seven and up who is interested in Geology, Lapidary, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Fossils or other related Earth Sciences.  We also have a very active youth program, and we have an Annual Rock & Gem Show.

The Society meets at our Clubhouse at 1324 Forest Dell Road off Moffet Road (Hwy 98) in Mobile, Alabama (next door to Forest Hill Elementary School). We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm (Due to Covid-19 all meetings are cancelled until further notice).  There are usually other things going on besides the monthly meeting…see what is happening on our Events page.  Guests are always welcome to visit us and see what we are all about.
