Rubies and Sapphires: Those Precious Red and Blue Gemstones!

Join us via Zoom on Friday, May 14th as we learn about red rubies and blue sapphire gemstones. Prof. Steve Okulewicz from Hofstra University’s Department of Geology and Environmental Sustainability will discuss their formation, where they are found/mined, and types. The SIGS business meeting will start at 7:00 pm and the presentation will begin at about 7:45 pm. This meeting will be free to all members via Zoom.
