ICELAND – LAND OF FIRE!

October 21, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

WE ARE BACK – NEW DAY AND MEETING PLACE:
I am happy to announce that we will once again be meeting in person.
St. Clare’s Church has arranged for us to meet in the Monsignor Murphy Faith Center on the 3rd Thursday of each month. For October 2021, Professor Steve Okulewicz from Hofstra University will be presenting: ICELAND – LAND OF FIRE!

There are 130 volcanic mountains dotting the landscape with 32 volcanic systems, most of which are dormant or extinct. Iceland has 29 active volcanoes with 207 eruptive events since human settlement of Iceland began in 900 CE. Discover why these numerous and massive piles of volcanic material exist in Iceland, how and why they erupt, and examine the problems they present to, air traffic, and global weather.
