- Profile
In 2006, a merger between the Dallas Children’s Museum, The Science Place and the Dallas Museum of Natural History created the Museum of Nature and Science. A large donation from the Perot family allowed construction to begin in late 2009 at the Victory Park site. In honor of the family the museum was then named the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Though the doors opened at this museum in December 2012, the institution has roots reaching into the 1930s. The mission and vision of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is to inspire minds and be an extraordinary resource for scientific learning.
The museum opens at 10am Monday through Saturday, and 11am on Sundays. The last tour begins at 4pm, with the museum closing at 5pm every day. There are 11 different permanent halls, and multiple events and other exhibits to explore!
Roam and Discover together in the Moody Family Children’s museum, put your athletics to the test in the Lamar Hunt Family Sports Hall, enjoy an indoor nature walk in the Discovering Life Hall, or study everything from ancient animal bones to rare fossils (and more!) in the T. Boone Pickens Life Then and Now Hall. Try The Hoglund Foundation Theater for the museum’s cutting-edge 4K digital projection and RealD 3D films!
The Lydia Hill Gems and Minerals Hall will shimmer and glisten before your eyes, allowing you to explore practical and beautiful aspects of different complex structures. Indulge in high-definition videos, digital puzzles, and touchable specimen. Gaze at a 5-foot sparkling geode, or compare different minerals.
Book your own event (wedding, birthday, etc.) or join one of the museum’s other age-based programs. Become a member for exclusive perks and discounts.
