Jim Coleman Crystal Mines, located in Jessieville, AR, is the largest producer of Arkansas Quartz in the country. Their mine is open to the public year round, every day except Christmas from 8am until dark.

Also make sure to stop into the Jim Coleman Rock Shop. There, you can shop a huge variety of minerals from around the world. The Rock Shop is also where you can purchase mining permits for the Jim Coleman Mines.

While you can’t enter the working part of the mine, you can dig through the material that is brought up. For $10, this mine is keep all you find! Children 9 and under are free.

This location is also pet friendly, so long as they are leashed.

Remember to dress appropriately for the activity and bring tools or you can purchase, at cost, a garden tool for $3. This mine also has public restrooms, snacks, drinks, and excellent helpers to make for a great experience.
